Conference for Veteran Bahá’is in the Central Region

Veteran Baha’is from the central region of Malawi attended a conference hosted by the Regional Baha’i Council, in collaboration with the Auxillary Board and the Regional Institute Board. Also in attendance were a number of youth serving in integral roles at the grassroots.

The conference, a first of its kind in the country, engendered sharing gems and reflections in the form of history and some personal experiences gained since the Bahá’i Faith came to Malawi in the 1950s and its profound growth in Malawi and globally. The needs of the current Nine-Year Plan were highlighted and global experiences were also shared utilising the films “Glimpses of A Hundred Years of Endeavour“ and “Light of the World

The Universal House of  Justice, the international governing council of the Bahá’í Faith, reminds us in the message dated 30th December 2021 that:

The establishment of Divine Civilization is, in the words of the Guardian, “the primary mission of the Bahá’í Faith”. It is to be built upon the most foundational qualities, ones for which the world stands in great need: unity, trustworthiness, mutual support, collaboration, fellow feeling, selflessness, commitment to truth, a sense of responsibility, a thirst to learn, the love of an all-embracing heart.”

Participants left with an appreciation of the spirit of sacrifice and commitment that the veterans displayed as well as an enhanced understanding of the current needs of the Plan. A renewed sense of vigour to increase participation of all individuals, in the work of the Plan in all its forms and create fortified communities was undeniably palpable.
